This assignment explores the notion of living ‘off the grid’ that points to an interest in reducing architectural dependence on non-renewable fossil fuels such as oil, gas, and coal—exploring to experiment with answers through designing a fully self-sufficient residence for a rural site in Southern California.

 
 
 

Off Grid Housing

Located near the Carrizo Plain, in San Luis Obispo, CA., these gateway houses are dedicated to occupants who want to destress from the busy city. With attraction programs like a playroom, painting studio, ceramic studio, and volleyball; occupants will successfully enjoy their stay through these activities. Furthermore, there are two dwellings on two floors for the occupants.
